One week left! Dublin here we come!

In one week’s time we’re off to Dublin. I can’t wait!

It’s a while since we visited Ireland and it’s with great anticipation that I am heading over. Easter 2011 is when we last saw Dublin and our home in Foxrock, and I am a little nervous. Lately I have been slightly nostalgic and I’ve been slightly missing my life in Ireland, not that I am thinking of moving back, just missing elements of my life there.

Pixie and my dear husband are travelling with me and for the two days that I will have to work over there, they plan to visit Dublin Zoo and the Pet Farm in Corkagh Park. Then, for two days we will enjoy all what Dublin has to offer. I am thinking that a visit to the playground in St.Stephen’s Green definitely will be on the agenda, and perhaps a visit to the National Gallery.

As per usual I am enjoying the actual planning of the trip, and a capsule wardrobe it is. Always on this search for the perfect capsule wardrobe, this time I might get it right! 🙂

Basics will include my blue trench, beige slacks and ballet flats, as well as my striped boat neck.

Mini Rodini rules!

Mini Rodini is one of my favourite children’s labels here in Sweden. I managed to get hold of this beautiful dress at the end of last summer when the sales were on. This summer it fits perfectly and goes very well with the new summer hats from Zara and the white Converse.

Pixie wore it today for the first time when we headed down to Stockholm city this morning, just a short ride on the Underground, to find a new outfit for Greta’s Birthday Party! We looked in a few differenty shops, initially we were looking for an Alice in Wonderland outfit, which is the one Pixie really wanted. But in the end we bought a Fairy outfit, Rosetta’s dress, Rosetta is Tinker Bell’s friend, complete with sparkly wings.

The Birthday Party was a great success. Now were off to see my parents, to have dinner, to watch the Eurovision Song Contest and to stay the night!

The dream continues, summer magic with my Pixie

I had promised myself not to think, plan, write or even dream any more about my summer holidays until we had at least reached April/May, but it’s proving too hard to do, I can’t help myself.

I just love that, in the Winter darkness that is currently enveloping us, I can still dream about summer and a time when I can walk barelegged in the sand on a beach. Planning a holiday is part of the joy for me, deciding what items to bring, and which ones to buy, to plan my capsule wardrobe and outfits for different occasions.

A while ago I started doubting if shopping and fashion was really what I was interested in, if it was what I wanted to spend my time on. But I have realised that it is something that I will never stop caring about. I do feel, however, that I have changed my style preference over the years. These days  I am more into smart, casual classics rather then the latest Stockers trends.

I love the classic striped dress, like this one from Vivienne Westwood, the classic Gucci Tote (I have one myself) and the cool Aviators from Ray Ban (I’ve asked Mark for a pair for my birthday).

Busy, busy, busy…

I have been so busy this week, trying to get everything done in work ahead of next week’s presentations. I have four to do in total, 3 client presentations and one seminar. There are also numerous client start-ups that I am trying to get off the ground, and the work ahead of our awards ceremony in March. Busy, busy, busy.

To top it all Pixie hasn’t been well, she’s got another chest infection poor little thing.  I nearly rushed off to get her from pre-school on Tuesday, she had been complaining about a sore tummy and wasn’t her usual perky self.  But Mark was able to get her, and thank god for that I had so much to do that day.

I finally managed to get some Bikram in last night  so now I am beginning to feel a little slimmed again, it’s amazing how bloated Christmas made me. Alright, I failed my detox miserably but I am drinking more water and green tea, getting the fruit and vege in, and the exercise. (I am Awesome!)

Today I’ve had a very successful introductory meeting with the new CEO of one of my clients.  I decided to wear my black COS dress, with a By Malene Birger jacket and my green cashmere scarf. So comfy and business-like at the same time. Score! Friday 20th Jan - Business Meeting

Attending a Birthday Party!

Style Diary – Jan 8th 2012 – Snow at last…

Not much but we finally have some. Snow that is. Today Pixie and I spent a couple of hours in the park sliding down the hill, on our bum, back, knees and on the tummy. When we had had enough we headed over to football field for some skating. She is getting quite good.
